The 924th anniversary of Malatya being made a Turkish homeland by Danişmend Gazi in 1101 was commemorated with the “Heroic Ballads Concert” organized with the contribution of Malatya Turgut Özal University Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture (STMF). The concert took place at the Battalgazi Municipality Conference Hall, coordinated by the Battalgazi Municipality City History and Promotion Directorate and supported by the MTU Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Music Department. The concert attracted great interest from academics, students, citizens, and many guests.
Organized to mark the anniversary of Malatya's incorporation into Turkish-Islamic lands by Danişmend Gazi 924 years ago, the concert was brought to life by MTU Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture Music Department lecturer Harun Barış. The poems recited by Harun Barış and the stage performances by his students created emotional and enthusiastic moments in the hall. The audience filling the hall experienced exciting moments with Turkish flags in their hands and folk songs playing in the background.
At the end of the ceremony, Battalgazi Deputy Mayor İsmet Sarıgül presented a plaque to MTÜ Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Ersan Çiftci for his contributions. The concert showcased both the loyalty to Malatya's history and the talents of the university's young aspiring artists.
